SeaLearn Academy will launch in Lagos, Nigeria, on 1st October 2025, specializing in maritime education through integrated learning, practical development, and strategic partnerships. It offers globally recognised mandatory and advanced STCW courses (International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers). The curriculum complies with regulatory requirements and is approved by NIMASA. By strategically aligning with key players in the shipping industry, SeaLearn Academy adapts its academic offering to meet evolving industry demands, ensuring students are well-prepared for fulfilling careers in the maritime sector.

The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms, simulators (including full mission ship-handling simulators and liquid cargo handling simulators), marine workshops, a library, a swimming pool, and a canteen facility, all designed to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.

Bhuvnesh Dogra has over thirty years of experience in the maritime and shipping industry, with a strong track record in technical operations, asset integrity, and fleet management.

He has worked with leading ship management companies delivering crew management, training, quality, safety, environmental management, and reliable marine asset management solutions.

Captain Kersi Nariman Deboo

Captain Kersi Nariman Deboo has 30 years of experience in maritime education and training, with 17 years of sailing experience as a Master Mariner. He has served as a Director and Principal of top maritime training institutions in India. He was a member of the Indian delegation to the IMO and chair of the drafting group for IMO model courses. Captain Deboo has also held positions in the Executive Council and shadow committees of the Indian Maritime University and the Director General of Shipping.

Engr Hakeem Olanipekun Oderinde has 20 years of experience in maritime surveying, ISM/ISPS/ISO audits, and MLC inspections. Prior to joining SeaLearn, he worked for NIMASA as an Assistant Director in the Quality Assurance Unit and as a maritime surveyor in the American Bureau of Shipping.
