Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch

This is a preparatory course undertaken by trainee ratings to appear for the exam conducted by NIMASA for obtaining a Certificate of Proficiency as a “Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch”. This qualifies a rating under STCW II/4, to serve on board ocean going vessels of 500 GT or more as a Deck rating, in the capacity of an “Ordinary seafarer”. For all on ocean going vessels of 500 GT or more, RFPNW is to be duly certified to perform the duties of navigational watch. This certification ensures that personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge to assist with the ship’s navigation and maintain safety during watch duties.
Eligible Documents : Valid COC, Seaman’s discharge book, International Passport, 2 passport photos.

Initial course fee : ₦300,000.00

Duration : 10 days

Rating Forming Part of an Engine Room Watch

This is a preparatory course undertaken by trainee ratings to appear for the exam conducted by NIMASA for obtaining a Certificate of Proficiency as a “Rating Forming Part of an Engine Room Watch”. This qualifies a rating under STCW III/4, to serve on board ocean going vessels of 500 GT or more as an Engine Deck rating, in the capacity of an “Ordinary seafarer / Oiler”. The course covers the training requirements mentioned in IMO Model Course 7.09. For all on ocean going vessels of 500 GT or more, RFPERW is to be duly certified to perform the duties of navigational watch. This certification ensures that personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge to assist in the ship’s engine room and maintain safety during watch duties.

Ratings as Able Seafarer Deck

This is a preparatory course undertaken by Watchkeeping ratings to appear for the exam conducted by NIMASA for obtaining a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) as a “Able Seafarer Deck”. This qualifies a rating under STCW II/5, to serve on board ocean going vessels of 500 GT or more as an Able Seafarer on the Deck. The course covers the training requirements mentioned in IMO Model Course 7.10. This COP of Able Seafarer Deck, is an upgrade from the Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch qualification

Ratings as Able Seafarer Deck

This is a preparatory course undertaken by Watchkeeping ratings to appear for the exam conducted by NIMASA for obtaining a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) as a “Able Seafarer Deck”. This qualifies a rating under STCW II/5, to serve on board ocean going vessels of 500 GT or more as an Able Seafarer on the Deck. The course covers the training requirements mentioned in IMO Model Course 7.10. This COP of Able Seafarer Deck, is an upgrade from the Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch qualification

Ratings as Able Seafarer Engine in the Engine-Room

This is a preparatory course undertaken by Watchkeeping ratings to appear for the exam conducted by NIMASA for obtaining a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) as a “Able Seafarer Engine”.

This qualifies a rating under STCW III/5, to serve on board ocean going vessels of 500 GT or more as an Able Seafarer in the Engine room.

The course covers the training requirements mentioned in IMO Model Course 7.16. This COP of Able Seafarer Engine, is an upgrade from the Rating Forming Part of an Engine Room Watch qualification.
